Dodgie's fine art photography is very well admired and respected by fellow artists. His people photography has the same attention to detail as his gallery exhibition prints. Dodgie 's artistic influences is quite diverse. With this he creates his own artworks and never mimic a certain style for he believes that it wouldn't be his own work if its just a reflection of a different artist. In each and every session he encourages each participant not to copy someone else's style but instead develop their own.
Art is very personal and more so if it is to be considered fine art. Fine art is loosely defined nowadays with the breed of digital artist that crafts artworks in a computer screen. Dodgie still is a firm believer of the old crafts, where he still creates his images a lot through film and have the same discipline if he is using his digital camera. For there's no substitute in getting the image right during the capture stage. He teaches post processing too but not to alter a photo but only to enhance it, specially with portraits to make it naturally flattering.
Dodgie's workshops are always fun and very relaxing, for learning art can never be forced. He teaches basic photography for those new comers to this artform but extends his lessons to as elaborate as preparing fine art prints, from the capture stage up to the printing stage. For its all about the details and unique eye that a fine artwork is conceived. His lessons are very personalized with inital interactions with the participants or individual students prior to session day to cater their needs. He makes sure that each one of his students will be able to take something new with them the next time they try and create their own artwork.
Photography is 20% technical and 80% artistry, and he goes by this principle for a camera is just a tool and all the controls are there to realize a vision. So his teachings has the roots in the artistic end of things. Where the camera wouldn't matter much for it is you behind the camera that creates art.
